"I drove the ball perfectly, basically," Summerhays said. "I hit it really solid in to the wind. It is a tough driving the game."

Claxton, the 30-year-old former Auburn player making his fifth career begin the PGA Tour, had four birdies and something bogey.
"The wind would have been a little gustier today, but I've just type of had good treatments for my ball," Claxton said. "I certainly a number of good breaks here and there and putted the ball well. I'm just doing all the things you need to do when you are playing well."
Owen had five birdies and one bogey. The 40-year-old Englishman won the eu Tour's 2003 British Masters.
"I played really well today," Owen said. "Tough conditions and drove Mizuno JPX-800 Irons generally in most in the fairways and merely kept plugging away and took some chances.
